Weald of Kent - £20 - Dated 30 Sep 1813

K13b-9b WEALD OF KENT BANK of Argles Bishop, Brenchley & Bishop - £20                                                        No.2195 - Dated: 30th September 1813

The £20 was the highest denomination for this bank.

The bank operated for less than two years, between 1813 and 1814.

There were a total of 2300 £20 notes issued.

Since 1981 we have only recorded 11 of those, of which, just 2 are privately owned.

This was only a three man partnership - Argles Bishop, John Brenchley and George Bishop.

(Time and time again in auction catalogues etc, these are advertized incorrectly as Argles, Bishop, Brenchley & Bishop)
